Vaccinations & Medications

The best way to protect your canine and feline family members from disease and illness is through core and non-core vaccinations. On a regular basis dogs should receive DAPPV every one to three years, Rabies every one to three years, and Bordetella annually. Cats should receive FVRCP and Rabies every one to three years. Some vaccines are non-core vaccines but instead based on the lifestyle of you and your pet. For dogs, those vaccines are Lyme and Leptospirosis and for cats that venture outside the vaccine is FeLV. Please call our facility and let us help you determine if these noncore vaccines are suitable for your pet’s lifestyle.

Collecting Baseline Information: Weight/Temperature

During your pet’s wellness exam, our team of experienced vet technicians will weigh your pet to track their weight over time. If we notice a sudden drop in weight, a gradual weight gain, or a rapid weight gain, this can indicate that there may be an underlying issue, or that we need to consider a dietary plan to get them back down to a healthy weight. Additionally, we check your pet’s temperature, listen to their heart, and gather other baseline data to gain a fuller picture of your pet’s overall health.

Physical Exams from Snout to Tail

Dr. Christina will perform a full physical examination of your pet, including everything from their ears, eyes, nose, and mouth to their abdomen, arms, legs, paws, and of course, their wagging tail. By physically examining your pet, palpating their tissues, assessing their teeth and gums, inspecting their skin and coat, and more, your veterinarian can identify things such as plaque buildup on their teeth, skin irritations, and other abnormalities, and begin treatment if necessary.
