Pet Ear Care
Symptoms of Ear Infections
Below are a few ear infection symptoms that you will need to take note of if they are happening to your pet:
- A foul odor coming from your pet’s ears
- Constantly shaking his or her head or pawing at the ear
- Will whine whenever you touch your animal’s ear
- A yellow, brown, or bloody discharge that seeps from the ear
- Itchiness or swelling in the ear canal
- Hair loss around the ear
How to Treat Ear Infections
Your veterinarian will first clean the ear of your furry animal with a cleanser. Once we cleaned the ear properly, we will provide you with the appropriate treatment for your pet. One of the most common prescriptions for ear infections is a topical medication that helps fight off bacterial infections. Your cat or dog may also receive some form of steroids to stop inflammation in the ear. We will even provide you with tips in preventing future pet ear infections.
